1) IBPS RRB 2026: the technical checklist
IBPS uses standardized digital formats across recruitment drives. If you apply for multiple RRB posts or scales, you can usually reuse the same document set, as long as it matches the exact pixel and KB rules.
Official specification table
| Document type | Dimensions (pixels) | File size (KB) | Ink/background |
|---|---|---|---|
| Passport photograph | 200 x 230 px | 20-50 KB | White background |
| Signature | 140 x 60 px | 10-20 KB | Black ink only |
| Left thumb impression | 240 x 240 px | 20-50 KB | Blue or black ink |
| Handwritten declaration | 800 x 400 px | 50-100 KB | Black ink only |
2) The left thumb impression (LTI): why it's the trickiest part
LTI causes the most anxiety because ink can smudge, and dry pads can produce faint ridges. IBPS upload checks often flag thumb images that look like a blob.
How to get a perfect thumb impression
- Ink pad: use a standard blue or black stamp pad.
- Pressure: press lightly and firmly. Do not roll your thumb (rolling causes blur).
- Scan/capture: ensure even lighting and avoid shadows.
- Enhance: if the scan looks dark/yellow, use Enhance Lab to whiten background and improve ridge contrast.
3) Handwritten declaration text (copy exactly)
Write this on white paper in your own handwriting (normal running hand, not all caps) using black ink.
"I, _______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required."
4) Using the Launch Toolkit: the banker's shortcut
We built the Launch Toolkit for aspirants who do not want to waste time on technicalities. The Banking preset works for IBPS RRB, SBI, and many IBPS drives.
Gold Standard workflow
- Select exam: open Launch Toolkit and choose Banking.
- Upload: select your photo, signature, thumb impression, or declaration.
- Auto-resize: the preset applies 200 x 230, 140 x 60, 240 x 240, or 800 x 400 as needed.
- Compress: target 45 KB (photo/thumb), 15 KB (signature), 80 KB (declaration).
- Download: upload to ibps.in. Avoid WhatsApp forwarding (it can change quality/metadata).
5) Privacy: why aspirants trust SarkariPixel
Many students use Jan Seva Kendras or cyber cafes, where signatures and photos can be stored on public PCs. SarkariPixel is client-side: your thumb impression does not travel to a server; processing happens locally in your browser memory.
6) Common reasons for RRB application rejection
- Spectacles with glare: remove glasses if reflections appear in the photo.
- Signature in ALL CAPS: sign normally; do not use capital-only signatures.
- Wrong ink for declaration: blue ink can be rejected. Use black ink.
- Filename errors: avoid special characters. SarkariPixel outputs clean filenames by default.
FAQ
Can I use a photo with a red or blue background for IBPS RRB?
IBPS strongly prefers a white background. Other colors increase rejection risk during upload or document verification. Stay in the safe zone with white.
My photo is 60 KB but the limit is 50 KB. What should I do?
Use Compression Lab and set a target of 45 KB. This keeps you under the cap without making your face blurry.
Can I scan documents using my phone?
Yes. Use daylight or bright indoor lighting, keep paper flat, and avoid hand shadows. Then use Enhance Lab to clean the scan before compressing.
Final advice
RRB preparation is about speed and accuracy - in the exam and in your application. Prepare your digital kit once, upload successfully, and get back to puzzles and number series.
